As things worked one day and then not the next on two different Linux partitions (and apparently to others), I'm confident we didn't change anything to cause this. I installed Linux and got Minecraft working first on my profile and then on my son's just a couple days ago (on a Lenovo Flex 5 with an Intel Core i3 processor), and yesterday it stopped working just hours after buying my son a license.
